Happy New Year!!

I know that I am a little late in wishing everyone a Happy New Year.  Sorry.  I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

The company that I work for shuts down for the week between Christmas and New Years, which is wonderful.  It was so nice to have 10 days off and not to have to worry about work.  I was able to spend some quality time with my friends and family.  I went cross-country skiing twice; the first time was good and I had a lot of fun.  But the second time, the weather had warmed up and the snow was sticking to my skis.  I was so frustrated, I was ready to cry.  Luckily we met up with my parents and they helped me get the snow off my skis and I half enjoyed my trek back to the car.  Ugh, I don't even want to think about that afternoon.

I went to the movies twice on my week off.  I saw Little Fockers and The Tourist.  Both were good flicks, and I would recommend seeing them both.

My next door neighbour and my roommate have been going to the gym for the past month or so; I didn't go with them as I didn't have my bathing suit at the house as I kept them at my parents to wear into the hot tub.  Since I was home at Christmas, I grabbed my suit and am now joining them at the gym!  So far we have only gone twice; but I am seriously hurting from it!  :)  We went on Sunday and just did our own workouts; my neighbour has a membership at the gym, but my roommate and I have not purchased one yet.  My first visit was free; which was nice and each visit after that costs $9.  Or I can buy a membership for $55/month.  I haven't decided if I want to buy a membership or if I want to join Herbal Magic or something to help me lose weight.  I want to be smaller for my 30th birthday and my trip down south in early 2012.  Anyway, last night we went to a cycling class and core (abs) workout.  The core workout was for 15 minutes before the cycling class.  It was horrible, since I was still so sore from the workout the previous day.  But I made it through (taking a lot of breaks).  Then it came to the cycling class, which is 45 minutes long.  At first it was all good; but then the seat started to hurt my butt.  It was a ridiculous pain; and the last 30 mins was torture...but we all made it through.  My butt is still so sore today.  Ugh, everyone in the class told us that our butt will eventually get used to the seat.  I'm skeptical -- I don't think that I can get used to that pain....  But I think that I will go back to that class, it was a good workout.

All the best in 2011; and I hope to have more updates on my workouts and weight loss over the next year.  My goal right now is to lose 30 pounds; and then re-visit my goal once I reach it.

Take care,
D.
